For 2014-2017, I am one of six Presidential Scholars at the University of Utah.

The Presidential Scholar is a new award presented to faculty members at the mid-career level who demonstrate outstanding talent.

The designation comes with a $10,000 per year funding for three years, which can be used for any activities or purchases that enrich his research activities.

I was nominated by my chair and dean for the Presidential Scholar recognition and selected from a pool of nominees from across the university.

Robin and I were invited to the President’s house for a celebratory dinner.
